Where did June go?

Wow, June disappeared. Really. I hadn't meant to be silent so long, I just was .... busy? Hell, I don't remember WHAT I was doing, or why. But I think I was just reading LJ a lot (oohhhh... stories!), and just not commenting.

Got my car back. She runs great. I even picked up a new 'guardian' crystal in Sedona because obviously, my car really needs it.

Went on a 9 day camping trip through Arizona. Boy, I'd forgotten what HOT felt like!! But it was fun. Nice to see Sedona, Flagstaff and the Grand Canyon again. Even if it felt like I melted at the Grand Canyon. We were there on the 4th of July, and it was like being in your own sauna. No kidding. Also, I like this style of camping - with trailers. Much nicer than the old 'haul your stuff on your back and sleep on the ground'. I think I'm getting past that point. I like lots of stuff, not having to haul it, and a nice place to sleep :) I took some pictures, that I still need to go through.

However, I think July is not a good time to visit the Grand Canyon. Not only was it very hot, but the canyon was very muted and dull. Not as pretty as when I went in fall, when it was cloudy and rainy. It was a lot more brilliant then (and the air was clear).

Well, Darn!

I was going to hit Borders this morning on the way to work to get my wristband for my Harry Potter book tonight. Uhm.. Yea. Got there, the store had just opened, and the line was AROUND the building. :::sigh::: I looked at the line of at least 50 people, looked at my watch and had to go to work. Darn it! So, I'm going to try again at lunch. I'm not going to get a good number, I can tell.

This does not bode well for Comic Con (me and lines).

2nd time's the charm!

Ran down to Borders at lunch time and there was no line. Thank god! the girls doing the dispersing joked that there HAD been a line till about 10 minutes before I got there. I got a silver wristband, which is the 2nd color. If I understood their numbering, I'm about #180 or so. They have a number of colors (6 or 7?) I didn't look to close. Not that number matters or is even listed. You are to get in line by 'color'. I'm the 2nd color, and there is about 150 of each color.
