Day two – or panels, panels and more panels.
I wanted to see what they were going to say at the Stargate Universe panel. And it was the first one of the day. I was also interested in another panel in the same room later in the day. I had originally planned (hah hah), to see the SGU panel, do a book signing then get back in the room later in the day. Yea, that wasn’t a plan that was going to work. I was also thinking I might try for the autograph lottery for SGU – again… no luck in lotteries vs getting in the room – and then having to leave the room and miss the other panel I wanted.
So, since I had some people to panel-sit WITH (which makes ALL the difference in the world), and we could agree on which panels we wanted, it was Ballroom 20 all day basically. Luckily all the panels in between the two I wanted were various TV shows I am familiar with, have watched and sort of like, even if I’m not fannish about them. I’ve had to, in past years, sit through some horror panels with my eyes closed.
I got to the con around 9am. Later than I wanted. My panel buds were there at 8am. I had to go through the massive line up to get INTO the room - 4,000 people - it was quite a line. But, my buds had my spot - 4th row from the FRONT! WHEEEEE! And center tooo! And I had my new camera - so high-fives all around. I ended up taking over 200 pictures.
So - Stargate Universe followed by: Caprica/Battlestar, The Big Bang Theory, 24 and finally Bones. We left after Bones to hit the dealers room for the Bones signing (I scored tickets almost by accident on Thur just walking by). Then it was another line and a crush of people for the autograph, met some friends for dinner then back to the con for the Syfy friday programming - Eureka and Warehouse 13 episodes.
SGU. HUGE panel. I took a lot of photos. I must say…. Most of them of Ming-Na. Man.. she’s one classy lady!! Not only knew how to hold herself in front of a crowd taking pictures, but great to listen to. I took pictures of the two other ladies on the cast – and in 90% of them, they’ve got bored, strange or painful expressions on their faces.
I think I’m looking forward to seeing more of Ming-Na

( More pics - Lots more! )
