Went and saw two movies today that I had been wanting to see: Faster and Burlesque.
I enjoyed both of them.
Faster was bubble-gum shoot-em-up made like a long music video.. oh... and some plot. But really, I've seen some pretty amazing fanvids with about as much plot. I like Dwayne Johnson / The Rock, and he does a good haunted driven guy in this. You looking for something deep? then this is not the movie. Looking for a bit of escapism and lots of music and guns - this is your movie.
Burlesque was very good. I enjoy Cher and Christina Aguilera and both sang a number of great songs. Was it a 'deep' movie? No. Was the story new? No. Did I enjoy it? Yes! And, I was actually very glad they kept the sex to wink-wink and didn't go for a higher rating. That would have been a mistake. Its quite a fun film, with some great songs, some fun dance numbers and good acting. Of the two, I would say go see this one.
