Sci Fi Friday

And time to do what I do every friday night - watch lots of TV till my eyes glaze over and my mind turns to mush :) No Stargate :::pout::: But we have Dr. Who season 2 and Battlestar Galactica starts tonight.

Now I like BG. It's well written and an intense political show about real world actions and very, very, very dark. But it's not Stargate. I like my sci-fi to have aliens :) To be funny as well as serious, to travel to new worlds and see new things. Can't we have it all? To have the funny and the serious? To have one show that make you think about the world as it is now and one that escapes this world?

Poo on you Sci-Fi channel for cancelling my favorite show.

I keep meaning to ask you - are you tied up family-wise on the evening of Thanksgiving? I'm flying out to San Diego that afternoon for a 30STM concert the next day

I was going to ask you what day you'd be in SD for the great plane jump :) I usually get together with friends and have dinner. My family doesn't do anything. I'll find out what's going on and let you know. Would love to see you. Where is the show in SD?

I think it said SOMA? I haven't looked up the address yet - I should do that before I book my hotel

looked it up. SOMA is very small (about 2,000 people), and I've never been there. It's near the Sports Area in mission bay (not too far from the airport). I'd offer my place, but I live about 20 miles away up north in Del Mar. I could drive you down, but I don't know your plans and how close you want to be or what you want to do. How long you going to be in town?

I think I'm just there that night. I imagine we'll drive to LA after the show, and check-in there, since the next show is LA

There are a couple of people coming in from Texas that I hope to stay with/travel with, so it should work out OK
