I wish I was in Vancouver

I need a "Green with Jealously" icon. Everyone in Vancouver partying like crazy at the Stargate Con - have fun for me? And take tons of pictures. I wish I was there. I really do. And if it wasn't the busy time at work, you better believe I would be there *shakes ankle chain*

I WILL go next year. The dates work out that I'll just miss the 1st day stuff. I hope someone I know will go, and boy are my fingers crossed that the Atlantis sets will still be up.

Well the first day is pretty light--a kind of gradual buildup to the main events, I think. I must say that I am having a great time--much more so than I did in Burbank, but I think that was in part due to recovering from that whole fever of unknown origin thing. :-)

But there are other little things too. I have more food options for one--there are plenty of places within walking distance, not the least of which is a grocery store. This year's cabaret with Robert Picardo was by far the best I've seen yet and I've been unexpectedly pleased by talks given by actors I've previously not seen before, such as Gary Jones, David Nykl and Andee Frizzel. And the hotel bed? Best night's sleep I've had in *years*. Paul McGillion was an unannounced guest at tonight's cocktail party and I am simply having a *great* time.

I've been trying to take notes so I could post a nice little summary on my return, but honestly some things (like Teryl Rothery's talk and Robert Picardo's performance at the Cabaret) defy a simple summary. God, I wish that video taping was allowed. I know I cannot do justice to most of the things I've enjoyed so far.

Take consolation in the fact that this is absolutely *it* for me. Real life demands that I spend my money more wisely on other things, which is why I am glad that I am having such a good time now. Set tour in the morning, so I'm off to bed now!

More than I realized. Though I wasn't actively *sick*, I wasn't really well either. That really took the stuffings out of me and I didn't really realize it at the time. :-)
