The final day goes out with a bang - or I was having too much fun to make a post yesterday.

Hanging out with my bud [livejournal.com profile] songwood, hitting two bookstores, acquiring 7 books; the comic book store where I finally got my Stargate Magazine; lunch, a movie and finally dinner than back to her place to read our loot.

It was a great day.

Books: Jim Butcher's newest hardcover Turncoat - as well as my line number for his signing; a Supernatural fantasy and 5 romances. Lets see - a woman who talks to ghosts, a fantasy romance, a spy, a werewolf guy and a rake. Yep. The usual.

The movie: Duplicity - a little romantic spyish twister. It was cute and trippy and engaging and we enjoyed it.

Aha, sounds like someone hit Mysterious Galaxy. :D

I'm curious about the woman talking to ghosts, the fantasy romance, and the werewolf guy books...?

actually Mysterious Galaxy and B&N. The 2nd because we were at the mall with time to kill before the movie.

woman talking to ghosts: You're the One That I Haunt by Terri Garey. Book 3 of a series. I really liked book 1 (A Match Made in Hell), need to read book 2 then this one, so it's not first on the stack.

fantasy romance: Duainfey by Sharon Lee & Steve Miller. I generally like their stuff, so it was because of the name I bought the book - and I've been waiting for it to come out of hardcover.

werewolf guy: Kiss of Darkness by Jennifer St. Giles, seems to be part of a series

Hah! This sounds like my kind of day. :-)

A SN fantasy? As in books on the series? Hmmm, maybe I should read some fanfic first. I keep saying I'm going to branch out some but oh, the time, the time...

ack, no (though I have read some of those - there are three of them). I should probably classify as 'Urban' fantasy. I sort of have a thing for those magic/fantasy creatures in real world settings that's all the rage right now.

Oooh, sounds lovely! So... are you going to attend Butcher's signing this time or am I going to have to do it again? ;)

Nope, it's not for another two weeks -so I'm cool. He usually comes when the book is published... which was two weeks ago, and that would have been impossible!

I'm happy that in my own, small way I contributed to making your day wonderful. I'm glad it worked!

You contributed in a HUGE way - and thank you! :) I hope it wasn't too hot camping - considering how warm and all the weekend turned out.

Naw, Saturday wasn't too hot. Rather nice, actually. The night was a bit chilly, and boy did Sunday heat up quick! But I was out of there by ten so I missed the serious scorcher that is now engulfing us.
