Oh god, and I already ache - and it's not even a full day. Yikes!!

Had a wonderful 'pre' birthday dinner with local friends at the Panda Inn at Horton Plaza before we walked down to the con. Lots of good food. It's not worth it to get there early, you only wait in lines. So we got there after it opened, and breezed through the line to pick up badges. Thank you SOOOOO much

I wandered the dealers room for the time we had, trying to find where things where and get my bearings and stop by the booksellers booths to find out the signing schedules. I got a few freebie things - 3 books, some postcards and bookmarks, several lanyards, a Dexter bag, some sample book chapters, a puzzle, a magazine and a comic. But I wasn't really trying. There were a lot of booths and lots of lines and I was just sort of skimming them, only getting into the short lines.

There are a number of things to take photos of - statues and so on, but I didn't drag out my camera. I'll take some tomorrow. No huge, huge things - no super large cars or boats or trees.... the studios have thrown out a statue or two - a number of them high up on pedestals, and seemed to have focused on the TVs. I hear there is a lot more of the huge stuff now out of the convention center in the Gaslamp area.
