Wow - three in ONE weekend! :) I'm still behind though.

Mamma Mia! - okay, I love ABBA, I've seen the Musical/Play, so gotta see the movie! And hey, it's got Pierce Brosnan! The movie was fun, not as totally centered on 'only' music as the play, but still, mostly singing, and some pretty cute dance acts - one with a troop of guys wearing flippers on a pier! Ha! Enjoyable.

Get Smart - funny and amusing light comedy with less slapstick than I was expecting. I liked the 'Chief', who was pretty much an upfront spitfire. Was bummed one actor I liked was the 'bad guy', but had good laughs.

The Dark Knight - whoooo, DARK, DARK, DARK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yikes. Lots happening, a very tight and fast moving story, an INSANE joker, who really rules the movie and keeps about 10 steps in front of everyone the entire time and they are all struggling to catch up with him to stop him. It's very intense, lots of death (some surprising), action/fights, car crashes (whee!) and explosions. Worth seeing? Hell yes. Worth going more than once.. uhm, maybe after a few lighter movies. Favorite part: There's this bit near the end third that's a huge car chase through the city with a police motorcade that the Joker attacks with Semi's. Oh yea, semi's crunching cars, semi's smashing things, semi's FLIPPING! Hee! Too cool.

Other movies I'm behind on chatting about:

Wall-E - It was cute, but... a little 'dry' for me. Very abstract and pretty, and there's this 2x4 that hits you upside the head that has the words 'ENVIRONMENT' written on it. Wow. And here I thought Ferngully was a heavily environmental protection movie! A lot of the 'action' of the movie is carried out sans words. I just wanted more vocal interaction I guess. Kids loved it, and most of the group I went with loved it. I was the only one wanting more.

Hellboy II: The Golden Army - Fun and well done. The 'bad guys' were the fairy types -elves, trolls, goblins, and they were cool designs. A lot of creatures running around. Good action, good commentary between the characters.

You Don't Mess With the Zohan - Yes, I actually saw it. A little cringe worthy, but silly. They pun mostly Bond type flicks, and man - the sex jokes.. groan.... Some good jokes, a lot of bad puns, and some jokes I was sure I was missing out on. Not bad, but more rent worthy where drinking and talking back at the TV is an option.
