Or, it "hasn't really started yet, but we'll let you shop anyway" day. Preview night - 3 hours of shopping in the dealers room with other 4 day pass holders.. uhm... and it's as crowded/I can't move as it usually is during the 'main' days.

I spent 99.9% of the time either at the Sci-Fi booth attempting to get buttons, or two rows over at the Stargate Worlds booth. The Stargate Worlds booth (for the online game), was the one where you could 'win' a chance to attend the Screening of Stargate Continuum on the USS Midway (not that far away from the con).

Those who know me, can see me cringing now. "WIN". Groan. Have to fight for in a line? I can do, trivia? I can do, luck of the draw? nope. I have the Worst-Luck-in-the-World. No kidding. Basically, you walk up the ramp to the booth, stand in front of the Stargate, wave your hands till the wormhole appears, and it if says 'Stargate' you win. If it flashes up to a picture of some world from the online game, you lose. Yea. I wasn't too hopeful either. I tried once, got a world, went back over to the Sci-Fi booth.

There I ran into two friends, one of whom =IS= the luckiest person I know - [livejournal.com profile] spiderling. She claims she's only lucky when it's something she doesn't want. Well, she wasn't interested in the Movie Premier (even though she likes Atlantis). I all but grabbed her and dragged her into the Stargate Worlds booth line. This time the line was quicker. Since I had friends there, we got pics. Mine turned out too dark, but I forced the flash for my friend, so here she is in front of the 'Gate' with the wormhole graphic.

Gate

I went first, got a world. My other friend went second, she got a world, Then, [livejournal.com profile] spiderling went - and SHE WON!!!!! I'm not kidding. Here is what the holy grail looks like :) Oh yea. Happy, happy, joy, joy!

Magic pass

swag: Sci-Fi buttons for: Scare Tactics, Destination Truth, Derren Brown, Ghost Hunters International, AND SGA Dr. Keller (with blowing hair and a spray of water behind her - no gate and words - from that promo pic shot I think). Also a "Big Fracking Bag", an Eureka 'Tin of Smarties' (really, a photo tin, with candy inside) and several dog-tags from Stargate Worlds (same design) and the holy grail - red carpet passes to the Stargate Continuum screening!

Oh god, I gotta get some sleep, it's going to be a loooonnnngggg day tomorrow! yikes! lost time in scanning and loading and posting!
