Sat, surprisingly, was my dealers room day. In years past, it was usually the day I'd be in panels all day, but that was Friday this year. So, I didn't need to get in early, just when the dealers room opened - 9:30am. I walked all over, mainly attempting for various freebies - like books from the booksellers and goodies from Paramount. I also checked out small press and got a few graphic novels. Hey [livejournal.com profile] rahirah, that web comic you like has been put into a smallish sized, thick graphic novel. I picked up a copy. My feet were sooooo sore by the end of the day!!

I did a late afternoon fantasy book panel to meet up with some lj friends and we all went out for Thai food and chatted. Yum!

Then back to the con for the evening activities. This year we'd discussed doing the Torchwood screening on the large screen rather than the masquerade. Mainly because we didn't feel like sitting in the masquerade line all day. As it ended up, they had the Torchwood screening in a very small room and it filled up :( So, we were going to do the masquerade viewing under the sails (party like, so not the best for watching). But staff friends had masquerade VIP tickets - SCORE - which means no long lines, and better seating :) heh. So, we ended up getting into the masquerade after all and having a fun time. There were 43 costumes and some pretty funny skits. Actually a LOTR friend's costume group did a great one and I later found out they won for best presentation. I was really proud of her. Also, the crowd was a little better behaved this year (thank god!). When the masquerade was over - it was past 11pm. I sort of wanted to take some costume pictures, but we were all tired and my feet were killing me so we headed down for the trolley and headed home.

And.... uhm - I hauled around two cameras all day and didn't take any costume pictures. It happens when I'm shopping, or set on going after something that I get very focused on that. My pals call it my 'hunter instincts'. I never think to pause and take a picture when I'm heading across the dealers room of some costume, instead I get frustrated with people who stop in front of me and hold up everyone and block the path to do pictures.

Sunday was an EARLY day. Two early panels that we just knew was going to crowded. With driving time and then catching the trolley, I needed to plan like a hour for travel time. So I left home around 7am ish. Got to the convention center a few minutes after 8am to a light crowd outside and headed up to get in the room line. [livejournal.com profile] spiderling had made the line about 20 minutes before me, so had a decent spot. It was a very, very long line, which we expected, but it was the 3rd largest room, and we had a good spot in line, so we'd get in no problem. I wasn't one of those who were wanting the 'first row' or anything like that. The line was outside, but under a tent, so just waiting. When they finally let in, we got pretty decent seats.

The rest of our group was in line for the Dr. Who panel, with David Tennant - who I later hear was extremely nice eye candy. I was bummed to be missing it, but could not do both panels. *sigh*

I haven't watched Smallville, so I wasn't paying a lot of attention to the questions - just taking pictures of Tom Welling – who was here for his 1st con appearance. What really struck me was the huge difference in questions between the Smallville and Supernatural panels. Hardly any people left after Smallville was over, so most where there for both – and yet –the questions asked for Smallville – silly, 'I love you' types and aimless questions romance, spinoffs, hotness of actors, more romance.

Whoo Baby! Tom Welling is YUMMY! Yes, I took a lot of pictures of him, and spent time drooling. Let's just say, I had a lot of company in that.
