Where has the Rain gone?

Just back and slowly recovering from two weeks of fun in the sun.

Me and a group of 8 friends which included 3 young kids took off for a tour of the Northwest - visiting Seattle, the HOH Rain Forest and then over to Victoria, Canada before returning to fly out from Seattle.

Seattle was cool - saw the Space Needle, the Science Fiction Museum (could have spent more time there!), took a ride on the Ducks of Seattle (quack, quack), took a hike around a waterfall, visited the Asian Art Museum, the Doll Museum, toured the underground, shopped in Pikes Place and took in the Tillicum Village Salmon roast and show.

And not a single drop of rain. Not even a cloudy sky!

Then it was off to the HOH Rain Forest, where we stayed in a Hostel for three nights and did the Rain forest and several cool windswept beaches in the area. Again, not a drop of rain. Not only no rain, but it was a sweltering 92 degrees and soaking humidity the day we were in the rain forest!!!!

What's all this? did we bring the heat with us?

Then off for the ferry for Victoria where it was time to do a whole bunch of gardens and more shopping! :) I was light on the museums here. I did the Undersea Gardens, the Butchart Gardens, the Butterfly Gardens and Craigdarroch Castle as well as a horse carriage tour of the harbor. Then celebrated Canada Day with a whole lot of happy Canadians with fireworks at Victoria Harbor. I had wanted to do the BC Musuem, but the entrance fee was a bit offputting coming as it was at the end of the two weeks.

And no, it didn't rain here either.

My two friends who live in Seattle say that it's been hot and clear in the summer for a few years now. Maybe it's a climate change due to the massive amount of people there? Who knows. X3

Yea, but I wanted rain! you know, something different. It was a lot cooler than here in Southern CA though, and that was nice.

Come to the STL area in the spring then! X3 Sometimes you don't see the sun for all of April and it's chilly, like 60-80's. Then it burns off and is muggy for the summer. x_x

Glad you are back. Hopefully you didn't spend TOO much money on stuff. LOTS of new stuff here to spend on. WHee!

Westercon was a total relaxacon... so you didn't miss much at all. lordgloria wasn't even attending! I just got to visit at the new place after the third day of the con (seeking a crash-space since my hotel roomie checked out early). It was great to see everyone at the new digs, since it's been ages since I've been very social while down in S.D.!

It sounds like your trip was a lot of fun! You saw a LOT of stuff. ^___^
