2007 SD CC - day one

otherwise known as 'oh my god, I'm getting old!'.
:::sigh:::
I got home at 8:00pm on the 1st day of con. My friends are probably all collapsing in shock. I'm the one who does 9am-midnight days for 4 days and just wants to do EVERYTHING, staying up all night for chat and sketch or movie sessions and is bouncy for 4 days.
Not this year. I'm tried, my feet hurt, my hips hurt and I'm depressed. All day trying to get any Stargate Atlantis buttons at the Sci-Fi booth, and not a single one. The conclusion; The people at the Sci-Fi booth hate me :( Really, really hate me. I ask when they are going to do buttons next, never get a clear answer (or lies - 'we already gave them all out'). They don't want fans, they want to just hand buttons to someone who has no clue.
Tomorrow, it's early morning line lottery for the 400 Stargate autograph tickets. I should be in bed now. I'm never lucky, so I'm dragging as many friends to the draw as possible. They getting in another line to get into Ballroom 20 for the 2 Stargate panels (Joe's coming!!!! yea!!!). I STILL don't have an intelligent question to ask.
Aimless pursuits: carring a camera - pictures taken -0-; watching busses for 30 minutes to take pictures of Stargate bus - No bus. Haunting the Sci-Fi booth for buttons - -0- Atlantis buttons.

Date: 28 Jul 2007 07:25 (UTC)Good luck in getting stuff on your other days!
It IS annoying when they don't give stuff to fans... some guys were trying to hand out t-shirts on the street and people wouldn't even TAKE them. I guess, maybe the point might be to get new people and not fans??? but I can't see how effective that would be... People just don't care... (unless they do--and then they're fans...) *__*
