Monthly Dr. visit today. My weight is only down a few pounds - this is where going to the gym actually works against me, but blood pressure and pulse were both good, so they are happy. Biggest improvement - my blood test was excellent. I've gotten my sugars down into 'normal', and I'm fine. Dropped from an 6.7 down to a 5.8 (under 6.0 by this scale is good) Yay! Next vampire session in 2 months. Thank god! I was so frantic I'd have to go through needles today, that I was almost panicking.

So, how I've been eating and being careful is paying off and working. Though it sure is hard cutting out breads, pasta and rice! I've always been pretty good about eating veggies, but now I'm careful not to have a lot of potato's, heavier on the veggies, and very light on breads, pasta and rice.

Yea! That's great!

Let's go hiking tomorrow. We can either get together around 10:30-11:00 and have lunch up on the mountain, or go in later in the afternoon. Whatever works for you!

that's good news, i didn't know you weren't very well; all sounds like good news though.

blood sugar's a tough one isn't it? my mum is diabetic so she's always having blood-sugar issues, and she used to HATE needles, but since she moved to type 1 and had to start injecting she's sort of got used to it. (still not happy about it of course!)

hmmm... no bread, pasta or rice? are you allowed things like cous cous? i've never had it but it's supposed to be nice... ;)

*still not jealous that you have season 4 tonight* ;D

I'm pretty good! Actually, I was doing great until my doctor, like two/three months ago threw a fit and yelled at me that my sugars were WAY too high and I wasn't getting weight off like I should be (yea, I'm chunky) and that unless I; 1)got the sugars down and 2) dropped the weight I'd be heading soon into Type 2 Diabeties :( :( :( He was like get it down now (the sugar number), or I'm putting you on medication to control the sugars.

So, yea, that's been the struggle. It was his suggestion to basically drop rice, breads, pasta (and pop, juice, starchs) - because of the sugar load. Though I've had a little, and tried to stick to 'whole wheat' types. I've had deserts and things WITH sugar, in moderation, but having desert AND a pasta dinner is a no-no.

I've had to go in every month because he's got me on an appetite suppresant drug (that's been helping actually), to boost my metabolism. I always have tried to lose weight, and get stuck with losing some, and then not getting any further.

Well, hey, you're making the effort, that's a very big deal. Crikey, appetite suppresant? I didn't even know that was something you could get!

Hmmm... you've been so supportive to me while I've been quitting smoking (and yes, i can confirm that I have still not had a ciggie since sunday night - REALLY, REALLY wanted one all day today though - I've been off work) SO... you go girl! *waves pom-poms* *realises how ridiculous 'you go girl' sounds with an english accent* *cringes at my silly cheerleader reference*

*hugs*

yea, I gave in and asked for SOMETHING to help, and they said appetite suppresant, of course, then you have to be 'monitored' closely and all that, but it's helping, so I don't care. Biggest problem was my metabolism, as its really slow, and this also helps there too, so double plus.

*Yay* on ciggie free days! *does the pom-pom dance*

And thanks :)

Keep it up. Otherwise it'd be more vampire-like stuff going on several times a day! It's freaky how you have to learn to poke yourself and draw blood...!

Not to mention a more restrictive diet... and more exercise... and all the possible medical complications... No fun at all. Stay healthy!!!!

Heheh... well, you deserve many congrats for getting your sugars lowered! It's not easy. (At least, I couldn't seem to do it enough to get off meds, and I gave it a serious effort for quite a while. *sigh*)
