Monthly Dr. visit today. My weight is only down a few pounds - this is where going to the gym actually works against me, but blood pressure and pulse were both good, so they are happy. Biggest improvement - my blood test was excellent. I've gotten my sugars down into 'normal', and I'm fine. Dropped from an 6.7 down to a 5.8 (under 6.0 by this scale is good) Yay! Next vampire session in 2 months. Thank god! I was so frantic I'd have to go through needles today, that I was almost panicking.
So, how I've been eating and being careful is paying off and working. Though it sure is hard cutting out breads, pasta and rice! I've always been pretty good about eating veggies, but now I'm careful not to have a lot of potato's, heavier on the veggies, and very light on breads, pasta and rice.

Date: 28 Sep 2007 21:04 (UTC)Let's go hiking tomorrow. We can either get together around 10:30-11:00 and have lunch up on the mountain, or go in later in the afternoon. Whatever works for you!

Date: 28 Sep 2007 21:30 (UTC)blood sugar's a tough one isn't it? my mum is diabetic so she's always having blood-sugar issues, and she used to HATE needles, but since she moved to type 1 and had to start injecting she's sort of got used to it. (still not happy about it of course!)
hmmm... no bread, pasta or rice? are you allowed things like cous cous? i've never had it but it's supposed to be nice... ;)
*still not jealous that you have season 4 tonight* ;D

Though I've had a little, and tried to stick to 'whole wheat' types. I've had deserts and things WITH sugar, in moderation, but having desert AND a pasta dinner is a no-no.

Date: 28 Sep 2007 22:06 (UTC)Hmmm... you've been so supportive to me while I've been quitting smoking (and yes, i can confirm that I have still not had a ciggie since sunday night - REALLY, REALLY wanted one all day today though - I've been off work) SO... you go girl! *waves pom-poms* *realises how ridiculous 'you go girl' sounds with an english accent* *cringes at my silly cheerleader reference*
*hugs*
