They lifted the evacuation this morning for my area! Though I didn't head home till the afternoon. Took time having breakfast, watching TV and doing a few little errands like the bank and post office before I headed back up the freeway to Del Mar. Ailene came with to help unload my poor car.
The air was much clearer than Sunday and Monday in this area when it was a huge smoky foglike bank. Still a little hazy, but then there are still fires burning! But far from me in the mountains. Not good for those up there... but I've had enough of a scare for one year!
House is fine. House is a MESS! Oh god, I threw stuff all over the place. Not only that, it's pretty amazing what I'd managed to stuff into my little car. Okay, not tiny, but it's a Toyota Corolla, which is considered a compact. Hauled my stuff up the stairs and sat and stared at it while I considered the huge task of not only putting away but organizing as well. Groan.
First, I dealt with was the computer. Gads, all the wires/cords etc that one has to attach! I wanna a laptop! Anyway, got it connected.. and the monitor would not turn on!! OMG. I had a 'spare' - ie an older monitor that I haven't managed to find a computer waste recycler for yet. Yes, too many old computer parts that one can't throw away and can't give to anyone so they end up sitting there.
Spare monitor worked, but it turned on funky and has now screwed up some settings!!! ARGH!! Computers are a PAIN-IN-THE-A$$!! Only thing I can really do is get on-line. So I guess that's something. Time to buy a new monitor in a few days. Maybe that'll re-set the settings.
