The last day, and I had an early panel. So, up at 6:30am, at the con at 8:20am to get in and find the line I wanted was basically wrapped around 4x's. Ugh. Thank god I got in when I did! When the line finally started moving, I was about the middle, because it wrapped all over the place! Since the room was empty, and it was the 3rd largest, I was sure I was going to get in for my panel - Supernatural - which was the 2nd one in that room at 11:15am, but I wasn't going to try and make it in later, so that meant sitting through Smallville.

Yes, lots and lots of lines and more lines this year. But, really, they've finally figured out how to RUN the lines, and have all the line people doing it the same way - let in the same way, let out the same way, have lines taped on the floor - it was very orderly, and after the mess of a few years ago, I think it went smoothly.

The Supernatural panel was great - Both stars were there plus Kripke and two of the writers. Lots of teasing the audience, lots of questions they would not answer about what was coming up. He called this season upcoming would be 'darker'. They showed the bloopers from the Season 3 DVD's, and to be an evil, evil, evil tease - the FIRST FIVE MINUTES of the first episode - which will be on 9/18/2008. ARGH! Enjoyed, and the stupid questions were shut down pretty quickly. I'll do another post on that, so those who want to be spoiled can be, though I'm slow, I'm sure you've already read it somewhere.

After the panel was over, I headed down to the dealers room, but couldn't get anywhere near WB booth to even SEE the signing :( Pooh. Yea, they did the line for the signing at the same time the panel was going on, so it was one or the other. Checked out the book isle, went to get something to eat, up to the art show to pick up my art, bought memberships for my sister, niece (who'll be 12, so needs a membership next year) and nephew, then back down to the dealers room picking up some last minute deals.

I basically shopped till the last possible moment, then got kicked out. Another year over. ::sigh:: But I did better this year, spent less and saw what I wanted too. I might not have done every row - but that's okay, that would have caused me to spend more!

Met up with two friends and headed off for the trolley and dinner before making it home around 9pm and falling asleep. I had meant to do my reports, but ah well.

This year, the trolley was doing a fantastic job too! No problems, they expanded the red line (direct) service, no switching around to different lines which I've had to do in past years, they ran later hours - no getting stuck at Old Town and having to walk to my car at the next station up at 1:00am on Sat! Yay! Let me tell you, a whole lot better than trying to deal with con traffic! The draw back is having to carry everything all day. My feet and back ache that's for sure.

swag: 1 book, stormtrooper mask, 6 Star Wars 'Vote' buttons, pencil, bookmarks, postcards, flyers, Chuck post-it-notes, mini lightsaber (red), deck of cards, Behind Enemy Lines Dog tags, 3 comics, magazine, She-Ra fan, Ironman DVD promos, 3 posters, Bruce Campbell promo DVD

Supernatural panel. I was farther back, and only one screen.... so not the best picture at all.

Steampunk is IN. I came across this large group just as they were breaking up and leaving the area, so only got one quick shot, but there were about 20 of them - all in extremely cool costumes!

Wow sounds busy but you sound like you had fun. Wish I hadn't developed a crowd fobia over the last few years. I just can't breath when the rooms is too crowded. Sigh
But I'll be happy enjoying the vicarious experience thru you.

There were 12 different designs of the SW buttons. I managed 5 with one duplicate. So, you are welcome to the duplicate - it's for Obi-wan.

go to zazzle.com and you can see them all (and I think order them.)

I managed to get: Yoda, Anakin, Obi-Wan, Luke and General Grievous (??!!)

Sorry about the signings. You need to just go to a Supernatural con or something. That's probably you best bet, really.

Mini lightsaber? ::wibbles::

Dolly stuff I wub.

Yeah, I already saw some pictures from the steampunk community. It's it BIG supposedly. Just you wait, Henry Higgins... Time Knights goes Steam. Two or Three chapters coming. Are you even reading them or have I lost you like two years ago? :|

That's too bad. You need to hit up Susan or something and just sit and read over there.

Glad you had fun. What up with bruce and his fuddy duddy ways? Eh, I would probably be close behind though as I hate crowds. :(

Never did manage to run into you on Sunday. Oh well. Thanks for the daily diary on all the stuff, though it makes me tired just reading about all the lines, early mornings, and late evenings.

Maybe next year we should get a group to all pitch in for a room at the hotel next door as just a clubhouse retreat. Be able to leave swag and food and drinks and whatnot.... just a thought.

Yea, I've thought about a hotel room, just to stop the long drives and be closer - but there's such a huge cost and there's not enough ava.

Ok so next year if we come. One, we will have a room so you can always drop stuff there and I am very tight with the Consuite staff which is one of my hang outs. Two, I will get you what ever signing wrist bands you want. So long as TRT are in charge of those talents. So sorry I wasn't there for you this year. I miss Con but not the crowds or the lines I miss the behind the scenes stuff I get to do.

Yea, I miss you too! You get all the cool behind the scenes gossip :) A lot of the signings I was interested in were in the Dealers Room (not upstairs), so it was a line. For the WB ones - no tickets, just had to be in line a certain time before they cut off the line.

Oh that's a bummer. Wonder why they did it in the dealers room and not up stairs? Oh well then I wouldn't have been a lot of help.

ah, you got to Naomi Novik's signing? I missed ALL the author signings... *sigh*

I'm so bad about getting anything done at Comic Con...

Only thing I did get to was the BJD meetup.

which I missed because of a panel conflict with one I really wanted to see (Supernatural)

Yea, I was making a point of doing a number of author signings, so I had lists of who was coming and had a stack of books all ready before con, then hit the booths Wed night to get days/times so I could plan on which book/which day
