This is what I get for watching the trailer for Death Race

and enjoying the explosions and car crashes that the movie would entail, my very own car crash.

**sigh**

Heading home from a friends last night and someone who really, really, really needs to read the drivers manual/laws again made a left turn in front of me, when I had the green light on the straight through. She then tried to say she was in the right. Uhm. I had the green light, YOU were making a LEFT turn!?! *bangs head on dash board* It was SO not my night. Either she was a blond in disguise, or "on" something.

Luckily, we were driving similar size/weight of car - no heavy trucks or jacked up SUV's, so all damage to my front driver's side is mostly on the bumper and broken turn light. And my car is drive-able, though scrunched. :( Poor baby. And I'm hoping to get her just to pay my mechanic and thats the end of it. If I go through her insurance (which she couldn't remember WHO they were since her parents paid for it, and they just switched.. and no, she wasn't that young), they won't fix my car, since it's considered salvage :(

Gaaah, I'm glad you're okay :( some people should have to retake the written part of the license exam every renewal, IMO... -_- I see driving getting worse and worse, and by far, most of it is adults.

Thanks. I'm very glad of that too, and that I wasn't going very fast. I'm almost ready to change what superpower I want from teleporting to ability to stop time!!! ARGH! I could SEE It was coming, but couldn't stop/move fast enough to avoid.

re: idiot drivers. So very true. I almost want to get a copy and give it to her!!!

Oh no do you have any witnesses? Are you Ok no sore neck or anything. Witnesses are golden as my lawyer put when I got hit by someone from behind sitting at a stop light I still needed to go through a lawyer to get everything taken care of because the person was being as idiot and just wanted to pay me off.

Thank goodness you're all right!! What a ditz.

Tuesday we were all in Baby (our PT Cruiser) going to look at some houses, when this idiot woman turned her SUV suddenly right in front of us, aiming for a side street. No signal, no nothing -- we missed hitting her by maybe 6 inches. GRRRRRRRRR.

Very glad you're ok. Hope the ditz ponies up the cash. Take care of yourself.

OMG!! Will you have to get a new car?? Will your insurance pay for it?? This sucks!

Yikes! I'm glad you're okay. *hug*

I'm glad you're okay. I hope you get paid okay. You really should contact your insurance folks anyway, because otherwise she may blow you off and you'll be left holding the bag.

I'm glad your car is drive-able, even if crunched.

Aww, damn. Fingers crossed you can get the thing fixed. *hugs*

Glad you are OK.

It would be difficult to construe the accident to be other than her fault.

California Driver Handbook:
Yield to pedestrians, bicyclists or other vehicles moving on their green light.

The value of the settlement will be based on the value of the car i.e. they will pay the repair cost up to a certain percentage of the car's value, or the value of the car if they "total" it.
