I'm so Proud!

My oldest niece is a fangirl!! I knew ONE of my many nieces/nephew's had to be fanish! I got begged this week to take her and a friend to the Death Note II: The Last Name movie this week, which only had a small, two day opening. I knew enough of the manga to be fine with it. And actually, it was a pretty well done movie and told an interesting story, good for anyone, even those not familiar with the manga.
As this was the 2nd day, there were only like 20 people in the theater. The row in front of us had about 5 teenagers who were Cosplaying throughout the entire movie, running around, jumping up and down (lots of movement and hand motions, no talking). And my niece and her friend were like glued to that almost as much as the movie, almost bouncing in their seats. After the film and during the little director's 'making of' bit, they ran about the theater and the front with the cosplayers acting out stuff and trying to take pictures and doing the whole 'myspace' thing, etc, etc. It was amusing to watch. And good thing for a lighter crowd (the day before had a huge line of dressed goths and punks when I was buying tickets). A larger crowd would have made cosplaying roleplaying harder to do, and probably frowned on.
I finally managed to drag them away, it was a school night after all, and already pretty late (past 10pm) since it was a long movie. The whole way home they chatted about manga, anime, favorite anime, favorite characters, reading stories at FanFiction.net, etc. The manga popular with them are the same ones popular recently at Yaoi Con - and whom I no nothing about: Bleach, Death Note, Ouran High School Host Club to name a few. My niece was telling me she was planning to be Ed from FMA for Halloween and talking about trying to get silver paint. Her friend was going to be Roy from FMA!
I'm so proud! :)
