winter_elfHappy Veterans' Day to all who serve and have served.
In my family, the veterans were my grandfather and his brother (my great-uncle). Both served in WWII. My grandfather in the Pacific and my uncle in Europe. My grandfather was wounded - shrapnel in the back and shipped home to endure many, many surgeries and a long recovery. He could still walk till he got much older, but his back always gave him trouble. My uncle also survived the war.
One of my main charities are veterans groups because of all the VA did for my grandfather throughout his life. I've supported PVA, HHV, Veterans of Foreign Wars, AnySoldier.com, and DAV.
To all the soldiers out there - come home safe and well.
