Whee! Stargateing and email. Can life be better? Well, maybe if the stupid hotel had the right Sci-fi feed! ::grumble:: I got back to my room all ready to watch the new friday night episode.. and what was playing - the X Files! I was bummed. Very bummed. God, I hope my friends DVR records what I set up! Seems, even though this hotel has the Sci-Fi channel (which the one in San Fran didn't), its somehow not got the right feed.

Not a lot at the con today. I got stuck in stupid LA traffic, so I was more delayed than usual. Not that I really missed anything, except shopping - but shopping is important! They sold out of some photo's, and I bet the ones I wanted were the ones sold..... The Friday night event was amusing.

Runs off to check email *hugs laptop*

drawbacks of having access to a laptop.. uhm.. yea, I'm up WAY to late having fun. Good thing Creation is NOT a morning con. Yay! They often don't start till later in the day, which means some quality sleeping time. Earlier morning tomorrow - the Celebrity breakfast - with Flanigan! :) As well as Apollo & Starbuck from the Battlestar con! Which means I'll get to actually meet them. I'll miss their talks since that's also the heavy day for the Stargate con and everything is happening at once (of course).

I like my laptop's keyboard. It's a little small, but not tiny and the buttons feel nice and move smoothly. I'm still trying to adjust to the touchpad. Mostly I'm having trouble with how to scroll with it. I'll start off fine, and by tapping it'll move slowly down a page, but then, for some reason, the next tap sparks off this huge jump or it'll scroll past really fast and I'll be like, huh? wait! slower! go back!

I got a wireless mouse to go with this all, but mainly to use when I'm in wordprocessing or need to highlight or do more than just surfing. I haven't figured out how to highlight or select with a touchpad.

Yes, I'm goofing off online because things haven't started yet. Won't have time to tomorrow what with the morning breakfast AND trying to check out of the hotel and packing the car and not missing anything.

Okay, it was either a VERY vivid dream, or it was real, but I'm pretty sure it was real, mostly because I don't often remember dreams, especially not hours later - but this morning (Sat), the maid knocked on the door and tried to open the door at SIX AM!! No kidding. WTF is up with that? I always flip the security holds, so it's not like the door opened all the way, but it was like out of the twilight zone. It was quiet for several hours after that, then she started bugging me every 10 minutes even though I told her at least 10 times, after noon I'd be gone. ::sigh::

So [livejournal.com profile] lordgloria, you did the maid thing - ever tried to clean a room at 6am? I can understand if one starts with vacated rooms or such not, when it's already been recorded the person's gone.. but for someone who's still there? ::groan:: Last time that happened to me, I think it was around 8am, and I thought THAT freaky.

Con was otherwise pretty good today. I should have packed more snacks. After a lateish breakfast at 10:00am, I wasn't in the mood for lunch right away, then things got busy, then it was 7pm and I was STARVING! Luckily I brought a few fruit bars, but needed something more. Ah well.

One good thing, no freaky questions this time (yet). No, 'sing happy birthday to my friend/me/so-and-so', or 'give me a hug' or 'I want to give you my phone #'. Also not many to Michael about current Stargate questions. Most were on past stuff or current projects or acting in general. I was about to get up the courage to ask about the two movies they filmed when time ran out.

Tomorrow - the big Atlantis day with Joe Flanigan! Oh man, I'm still nervous about how that's going to go and what I should ask. ::fret, fret::

Well, that was fun. Just got back from the gold special desert party. Last time I did the 'gold' thing at creation was for the ORC (LOTR), and while it was okay, the party wasn't as much. The actors were on a stage and didn't really interact. This time, a whole bunch of round tables and a number of actors who went table to table. Yea, short time, but a few questions and all. We had two empty seats at our table, either side of me actually, and every star who sat, I was next to! Oh god, if only I'm that lucky tomorrow!! And you know, a fun group at the table, I wouldn't mind finding them tomorrow.

I was at a table with mostly Battlestar Galactica fans, one other Stargate and TWO journalists! So, we actually had quite the conversation going. She was doing an article about female roles and female fans and why the dynamic has switched. She seemed surprised that a lot of the con was female and not as many men. Though the Battlestar con has a LOT more men (60/40) than the Stargate (10/90). So we talked about quite a number of things - like how long we've been fans, our first show we were fans of, why we were fans, why we came to conventions, what conventions we've been too, what we thought of the subject matter brought up in shows, female role models, etc, etc, etc! (Ailene would have =LOVED= talking to this lady). She writes for Discover I think she said. At the Table, I was the 2nd oldest - one lady was in her 50's, one who was too young to drink and three in their late 20's/early 30's I'd say. I was the biggest con veteran. A few who'd done a few other cons, but not a lot. One lady ran a Supernatural website and had just done the Supernatural con in Chicago last weekend. Whew! All mentioned chatting online a lot (especially the website lady). Several of us had been fans of sci-fi a long time.

I'm even more nervous about tomorrow!
