Ugh. Not only did I have to get up early (for me) for a dentist appointment today, but found out my long time (20 YEARS!) hygienist, had retired and I had 'the new girl'. Ugh. Not thrilled. And to top it off, she didn't listen to me. She wanted to do the 'pokey' test (I hate that), and I said to do it first. No, she first spent 30 minutes scraping and poking my gums, THEN, gee... I had a lot of bleeding when they did the test after wards. *sigh* No 'Duh! My guns still feel a little 'off' and tender :( I miss my gentle hygienist, something fierce.

Then, they discovered a cavity. Ugh. At the gum line too. And since my co-worker is at a seminar today, I couldn't stay to get it taken care of, but hustle to work. So that means I have to come back! ARGH!

At least the upper crown problem tooth is still holding on.

I then get a call that Delta is changing (again) our flights this weekend to Orlando. *groan* I called and complained at them sticking me farther back in the plane and they put me in the exit row for the two flights that I ended up too far back.

I am sooooooooooooo behind!! Argh! Skip 200 and I'm STILL Behind!!!! I've only managed to read less than half of the [livejournal.com profile] mcshep_match stories, and only got a day left to vote there - ARGH!!! *time! I need more time!* Where's the Dr. when you need him?

I've just been a little off, haven't been reading lj enough to stay caught up and been busy with final planning for the big group 'mouse-house' vacation for a week in Orlando with my local group of friends. Where I'm sure I'll get even MORE behind on everything while running through all the mouse-land attractions and well as a day for the Kennedy Space Center!

Yikes! Everyone was just too talkative last week! I'm back 140 messages (past the days entries I'm looking at) and STILL only on the 27th!?!?! Yikes. And I need to get 7 days before that. :::sigh::: Well, I'm going to miss a lot, so if I missed something important, give a yell :)

In other news - I didn't gain weight on our camping trip. You all probably think I'm kidding. I'm not. We can walk all over every day and still gain a few pounds. That's because of [livejournal.com profile] hotmarscube's cooking. When one is spoiled by french toast, pancakes, omelets, bacon, sausage ... all of the above on one morning, steak, chicken & dumplings, spaghetti ... yea. I walked miles, I biked miles, I took photo classes. But at least I didn't gain, so I guess it goes into the good column this trip.

I posted about 250+ pictures to snapfish. If anyone wants a looksee at the full sized pics, just give me your email so I can send you the link.

I'm back... and soooo far behind on LJ!

5 days of wilderness, bugs and camping in a really beautiful place and I'm even more glad for things like showers! :) The weather was nice and getting hot - it started out in the 80's and got to upper 80's by the time we left. Pretty much bright, clear, blue skys with a few puffy clouds on the last day. Nights were nice (except for the bugs) in the upper 50's. Basically a light jacket and a long sleeved shirt and one was fine.

We had the usual misadventures of injuries and grumpyness, but I think we all had a good time. I'm afraid to get on a scale to see if [livejournal.com profile] hotmarscube's cooking had me gain weight or not *groan* The disadvantage of having a good cook along :)

Took a hike, did a bike ride, and two different photo classes - one by the Ansel Adams gallery and one by Canon, shopped and hung out at our campsite. I learned stuff in both photo classes, and I was especially glad for the Canon class - as I have a Canon camera and some tricks to do things with it was nice.

But I'm glad to be home and my cats, after a few hours of 'I'm not talking to you' are back to clinging and trying to crawl into my lap as I'm typing this!

And here are some pics. I took about 250 total. A lot duplicates and such. Here's 7 of them )

I'll be gone for a week camping in Yosemite with a large group of friends and family.

*clutches internet tightly!*

The rule of the day, hiking and nature and forced awayness from internet. *sniff* I'll miss you all! And I'll be sooooo far behind when I get back!

Every week when I go to my chiropractor - I giggle at this ad for the restaurant next door. I mean really.. WHAT WAS THAT DESIGNER THINKING? No, really? I mean, yea, it's Hillcrest, but STILL....

I'm sharing so the rest of you can giggle too.

I'm home and feeling lazy and suffering con/traveling let down, in that I still want to be out partying/having fun, not back home contemplating returning to work tomorrow.

I basically spent the day being lazy/sleeping with brief moments out to drag the cats to the vet. They were not happy with this plan. But when one has a day off and cats that need yearly shots and all, well, that's what one must do. So now the kitties are both missing me and feeling clingy and pissed at me at the same time.

I haven't unpacked. I haven't done laundry. I haven't organized. I haven't attempted the huge backlog of posts and such I need to catch up on! Ugh!

You know, it's nice having a laptop, but I'm finding that I'm so busy running around, chatting and basically up late that I don't have much computer time when traveling!

Ah yes, the wonders of living in CA, sometimes the earth moves. This was a super short 'jolt' quake. I was less than a second long. Just enough to make one jump and the house to squeak, but nothing rattled, shook or swayed . It was stronger up in LA basin, but down here in lower CA, very weak. But strong enough to be felt even for how short it was, so I knew it was a decent magnitude.

For those who don't know - quakes almost always (95% of the time) start off with a 'jolt' feeling. It sort of feels like what happens when jerking awake from a falling dream to me. The 'jolt' is then, usually followed by the rest of the quake - either a rolling feeling or a shaking feeling, which is often stronger and much longer than the original jolt. The jolt always gets my attention, and prepares one for what follows. I was all braced for the follow up here..... and nothing. hmm... strange.

very slow at work. Which is good, since I'm leaving on vacation in a few days! I just hope it CONTINUES to be slow. With my work, we can be slowslowslow for days, then the day you are ready to leave on vacation, 5 projects must be done NOW.

Had to get up early, pre-dawn on a weekend for a horse show. *ugh* I am NOT a morning person. I woke up (after hitting my alarm for over an hour) the time I was supposto be OUT the door - and I wasn't ready, and I hadn't packed the car. Let's just say I ran around like crazy, but managed to be only 10 minutes late. Whew.

To all the Mom's on my FList - I hope you had a swell day getting pampered and relaxing and NOT doing any housework :)
winter_elf: Sherlock Holmes (BBC) with orange soft focus (Huh? Rodney)
I've tried to tag and log in, both times it won't show any typing and freezes up explorer? Even closing the window, freezes up everything else I have open :(

When planning a group vacation, buy ALL airline tickets at once. No trying to split up to use different people's Credit Cards. ARGH! We tried that last night, and once one group got their tickets, it was not only impossible to find the same flights they choose, or if I found the same flight - it was a LOT more!!!!!

After a fruitless evening and this morning, I finally got something similiar, though I had to pay about $30 more *sigh*
winter_elf: Sherlock Holmes (BBC) with orange soft focus (OMG - John & Rodney)
OMG! I'm not kidding, bugs EVERYWHERE! I came home friday to a swarm of earwigs across the porch. So it was me and a can of raid freaking out and spraying the porch, rail and house at 1am.

Tonight a bug crawled on Eowyn and she did this funky dance and freaked out trying to knock the bug off - much like my bug dance. I'm like you're a CAT, EAT the bug. And she's like, 'get if off me! It's icky!'. I ended up having to knock the bug off her. *shudder* The things I do for my cats.

Tomorrow, I'm sure they will not be happy with me when stuck in kitty carriers while the house is sprayed.

OMG! What was with today?????? Went out at lunch and was almost bowled over with this WAVE of heat that hit me. Yikes, thank goodnes for air conditioned work... though the A/C decided at about 3:30 that it had had enough. At least we only had to struggle along a little longer.
winter_elf: Sherlock Holmes (BBC) with orange soft focus (Yay! John)
I got tagged by [livejournal.com profile] sgamadison for the eight days of happy meme. It's not the best time of year for me to start this, because honestly, right now work is hell and long and I've got 3 more days to go of it. But, oh well,

So here are the rules...
EIGHT DAYS OF HAPPY!

1. Post about something that made you happy today, even if it's just a small thing.
2. Do this every day for eight days.
3. Tag eight of your friends to do the same.
I'm not going to tag anyone. If you'd like to do this, feel free.

What makes me happy, Day One...

Went by Target to check, again, for a copy of the on sale Supernatural S3 DVD set.. and they got some more in stock! Score!

Yesterday, when I should have started this and didn't get time to do up a post - a client brought in a tray of cookies and cupcakes for us at work. Can we say sugar rush? :) *Urp*
winter_elf: Sherlock Holmes (BBC) with orange soft focus (*head desk* Rodney)
*whimper* the 10 hour days are creeping up into 11 hour days and now we're getting the idiot clients who bring in their stuff last minute, who owe money, and, of course, can't pay. So that means we can't extend them and have to get the return done so they can apply for a payment plan. *groan*

*sniff* and I come home to stuff brainlessly for a while.... and no new SGA stories to lose myself in. WAAAHHHH. Still considering selling my soul to make next years Stargate Vancouver convention. It's so close to being do able. Just the pesky problem of usually right AFTER the 15th its all the catch up work to do that's been put off for weeks. I have a year to work on the boss. And since I'm suffering SGA withdrawal, I went ahead and bought tickets to the August Chicago Stargate convention.
winter_elf: Sherlock Holmes (BBC) with orange soft focus (Huh? Rodney)
It's raining. Really. Raining. I sure wasn't expecting it today. It was clear earlier. Guess we'll have a few more flowers show up.
winter_elf: Sherlock Holmes (BBC) with orange soft focus (Default)
And this was my drive to work this morning. Look at that fog! Yes, I was playing with my phone, and I was surprised that I had to re-format the picture SMALLER. It was way too large to post!

It's also like.. reversed... I don't know why the phone is taking it that way.
winter_elf: Sherlock Holmes (BBC) with orange soft focus (Alarm Clocks Suck!)
The alarm clock is winning. I didn't hear it this morning, and work up at the time I was supposto be at work, so missed my chiropractor appt, drat! *sigh* According to my body, it was the time I was supposto be getting up if the time was right instead of 'leapt forward'. Curses alarm clock some more. No, I wasn't in any trouble, as the boss isn't a morning person. Hell, he'd rather I'd be there at 7pm than 9am, but =I= don't want to be there at 7pm.. which considering this week and the next month..... sigh.... Advantages I suppose for working for a night owl.

*whine*
Here, have some kitty pics!

This is Eowyn telling me that she doesn't think the laptop should be in my lap, and made sure to push her way into my lap. It's very hard to type with kitty in lap who's made sure to push the lapdesk out of her way.

more kitty pics )

I hate the 'Spring Forward' time change. I seem to adjust slowly to losing an hour. This morning me and my alarm clock had an argument. I'm not sure who won.
