*dances with excitement* Okay, so I'm late by a few days. It went live after I went to sleep on Thur night. Good thing too, as I checked right before bed, and if it had been live, I'd not gone to bed! I would have been up all night reading!
So many wonderful LONG stories with some stunning art. I've been reading for several days, and yet barely made a dent. I think my reading is slowing down.. or I'm just taking them slow and really enjoying them.

Go read it! It's a nicely angsty post-trinity tale that doesn't fall into mega angst, but does a show a long road back for Rodney and his relationships with his fellow Atlantians - and most especially John! And take a look at my art too. I'm happy with how they turned out.

Here's some kitty and SGA action figure pictures to celebrate! :) SGA wave 3 is FINALLY out, so I dashed off to my local comic book store to pick up mine.

Garrison Uniform John Sheppard comes with: Drone, P90, ZPM, GDO and ancient scanner. He's got the straps around his leg for the gun holster - but no holster! Looks sort of silly, they should have either had the holster or left off the straps! but he's never without the gun, so..
Col. Samantha Carter: ZPM, GDO, P90, touch screen computer and side of ancient chair
Wraith Drone: Wraith stunner, large wraith stunner, wraith pokey thing, Asguard controller stone (?!) and seat of Ancient Chair
Ronon Dex: P90, small knife, his gun, stick, GDO and back of ancient chair
Dr. Jennifer Keller: Laptop (rodney is upset. He wanted the laptop!), two ancient scanner things and side of ancient chair

19 December 2008 15:49Oh sga_santa how I love you!!!!!! OMG, so many fics to read, so many LONG, wonderful fics to read. Work? What's that? Thank god its slow is all I can say! I'll try to make a list and point out my favorites so far tomorrow - I'm still trying to read them all - and new sparklies get posted and I get distracted. Thank you fandom, its like a feast for everyone.

why, why, why does Sci-Fi always seem to put the SGA marathons on in the morning? ARGH! Setting my VCR this morning and it was super hard to turn the TV off after I did! I caught a few minutes of Grace Under Pressure. I was very tempted to call in sick, I have no idea WHY, it's not like I couldn't pop in a DVD anytime I wanted. *sigh* I hope everyone is having a good full-moon friday!

yes, yes, yes, I'm sloooowwww! It's taking time to go through and re-size all the pictures I took so I can post them and then to upload with my slow connection.
David's a real treat to listen to on stage. He's a fast talker, jokes around, makes lots of funny expressions and loves to tell stories. He talked about Baz to begin with - and Baz's misadventures with being watched by him and then things seemed to hit a time warp as I know he answered lots of questions yet it seemed like no time at all before his time was up.
margec01 and sgamadison have great write ups... so uhm - here - look at the pretty pictures!
David when he first came onto the stage. Once he sat down - I could lean out just a little and NO ONE was in my way.. OMG - aisle seats rule! But then you are all getting to see the riches of that too :)

And now for Jason Momoa! Hearing about the bar fight only the night before the con was to start, I was sure Jason was still in the hospital or something. I was very glad and amazed he showed up. I did not take as many pictures of Jason, I think I was feeling guilty or something, and almost all I took are from one side. The few I got too close with I don't want to post.
Yes, it looks likes it will be a nasty scar, and yes, I'm sure he's got many more surgeries ahead of him. While it wouldn't affect his work on SGA, for any other work as an actor, it's got to be very tough. He's very low spoken and laid back. A lot like Ronon in many respects.

Sunday or the day we've all been waiting for - the glee that will need several posts to show!
I've not had the chance to meet with Rachel at a small con event like this (the crazyness of Comic Con several years ago where I barely heard her talk doesn't count). She's very sweet and sort of quiet and has a super voice. She really does seem a lot like the calm Teyla that she portrays and it's sad that TPTB can't seem to use her character more.
The audience wanted her to sing a LOT and that and the constant asking about romance made me feel sorry for her. I soooo agreed with what Rachel said, that UST is best and it leaves things open, and if I'd had my photo op before the panel, I would have told her that!! I had this teenybopper sitting next to me who seemed to want to yell Sheppard for every question Rachel was asked. *grits teeth*
The only funny thing that I picked up on - she changed into different outfits every time I saw her!! At the morning breakfast, a cute floral dress; at the Photo ops a tight black formal outfit with buckles; for the panel tank-top and jeans; when she came out later for the 'three' panel - added a hairclip. When I kidded her about that at the photo op (that she changed), she sort of shrugged and said 'Well, girls gotta have fun' in her soft voice.

Creation Burbank Stargate 2008 Convention
November 22 - Saturday
The 1st actual day (though there was a small 'fan get together party' the night before, at which I didn't take any pictures) Mainly went to pick up registration info. Saturday was the 1st full day - with three guest stars. I had a great seat on the aisle and the day was set for trying out my new camera. And boy, did I have my job cut out for me with the 1st guest!

I took so many pics with my new camera!!!! And I had a great seat! :) *dances* The camera did well, though I still need to work with it some more, as I had a number of blurry pics that I had to delete. But with 700+ pics, I had some nice ones too!! Yay!
I didn't take any notes and I'll need to sit down and work on some sort of a con report.... it won't be much - I was pretty busy taking pictures.

*dances!* I'm so excited I can hardly wait - David Hewlett, Jason, Rachel and Kavan Smith! Whee! Of course, I have NO clue what to ask them, or anything to say. Any thoughts FL? Any deep questions to ask? I'm so bad, but last time, the lameness of questions just made me grit my teeth, so I'm determined to come up with something. Help me FL, you are my only hope!
And in return, I hope to spam you all with snazzy large pictures from my NEW CAMERA!!! You heard right, I gave in and after reading reviews and searching since July, I have a new camera in hand with an awesome zoom that will, hopefully, take scorching pictures! It's a Canon SX10 IS with a 20x zoom.
I was actually about to buy the Canon S5 IS, as that was the camera I was interested in in July at Comic Con, it has a 10x zoom, and the I had a discussion about it with the guy in front of me at the Stargate panels, and he let me look at his. And after looking it up, checking pricing, and all, I was about to buy it....... and then Canon released the Update - The SX10 IS!! ARGH! Which meant more research online, finding it locally to feel and test. And pricing looking again. And it was LESS than the S5 IS!? I don't know why the older model went up in price, and the new one lower, but oh well, I gave in and got the new model. Now just to learn how to use it!
I wanted a large zoom, but I also wanted a point and shoot automatic digital. I'm a lazy (I admit) camera person, and want nice pictures with out the fiddling with F-stop and light and etc. Yes, lazy, lazy, lazy.
